CMF Watch was the companion application developed by CMF by Nothing to pair and manage CMF smartwatches, including the CMF Watch Pro and CMF Watch Pro 2 models, offering health and fitness tracking capabilities.
Launch & Functionality
The CMF Watch app served as the primary management application for CMF smartwatches, facilitating pairing, syncing, customisation and monitoring of metrics such as workout data, heart rate and sleep patterns.
The app underwent a number of updates throughout its life, including Strava and Apple Health integrations, an AI watch face generator, feature enhancements and bug fixes.[1,2,3]
However, user reports and reviews frequently mentioned connectivity issues, frequent disconnections and user sessions ending unexpectedly, forcing the user to log back in.[4,5,6,7,8]
Transition to Nothing X
In June 2025, Nothing began phasing out the CMF Watch app in favour of a unified platform within the existing Nothing X app, to streamline device management across its ecosystem.
A public beta of the new Nothing X launched on 27 June 2025, offering full support for CMF Watch Pro and CMF Watch Pro 2, including a data migration guide to transfer user data across from the CMF Watch app. Once migration was initiated, the CMF Watch app account became inactive.
Data migration supported content from October 2023 onward and included workouts, daily activity, sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and fitness goals. Some data such as nickname, avatar, height, weight and female health data was not migrated.
The official public rollout of Nothing X with CMF Watch support occurred in July 2025, while the CMF Watch app remained available for use until 19 July 2026, to allow all users a smooth transition.[9] The CMF Watch app was removed from the Play Store and App Store on 3 April 2026.[10]
Nothing X: The Unified Successor
The migration to Nothing X gave CMF Watch users a redesigned, single-app experience for Android and iOS, aiming to consolidate management for Nothing’s audio and wearable products. Alongside a refreshed user interface, Nothing X benefits included improved connectivity and third party health app compatibility. Feedback from the community was overwhelmingly positive.[9]
