The Nothing Phone (2) is a flagship Android smartphone developed by Nothing, serving as the direct successor to the Nothing Phone (1). Announced in July 2023, it represented the company’s first premium-tier device, offering a step up in performance, build quality and software experience. The device retained Nothing’s trademark transparent design and Glyph interface, expanding its functionality and introducing new lighting patterns.
Phone (2) tagline was “Come to the bright side”, highlighting its upgraded glyph_interface.[1]
History & Launch
The Nothing Phone (2) was announced on 11 July 2023, with pre-orders beginning on the same day and open sales starting 17 July 2023. It was priced at £579 / $599 / €679 for the base 8 GB RAM / 128 GB model, £629 / $699 / €729 for the 12 GB / 256 GB variant, and £699 / $799 / €849 for the top 12 GB / 512 GB model.[2]
The Phone (2) marked Nothing’s first device to launch simultaneously across major international markets, including the UK, Europe, India and the United States. Nothing hosted a number of in-person drop events for the launch, which saw the Nothing Kiosk take an international trip to New York.[3]
Design & Display
Colour Options: Phone (2) was released in White and Dark Grey finishes.
Back Design: Nothing’s signature transparent design, with a slightly redesigned and upgraded Glyph Interface across the full rear panel. It features 11 separate lighting zones which can be used for ringtones, notifications, charging indicators, volume levels, and visual effects like music visualisation, Glyph Torch, Calendar progress and more.[4] The design shifted to a slightly more curved profile compared to the Phone (1), giving it a more ergonomic feel.[5]
Front Display: A 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1080 x 2412 resolution, 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and features a centred punch-hole front camera.
Build: Constructed with an aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass 5 front and back. It’s IP54 dust and splash resistant and weighs 201g.[4]
Hardware & Performance
Processor: Phone (2) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and an Adreno 730 GPU.
Memory: Available in configurations of 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage, 12 GB RAM / 256 GB, and 12 GB RAM / 512 GB.
Connectivity: Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Dual nano SIM, USB-C 2.0, LTE and 5G support.[4]

Rear Camera: A dual-camera setup featuring a 50 MP main (wide, OIS + EIS) sensor and a 50 MP ultra-wide. Supports video up to 4K@60fps.
Front Camera: A 32 MP, wide selfie camera, capable of 1080p@30fps video.
Speakers: Stereo output (no 3.5 mm jack).[4]
