Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is a premium over-ear wireless headphone developed as the higher-end counterpart to Headphone (1). It represents Nothing's first Pro-tier over-ear headphone, building on the design language and tactile controls introduced with Headphone (1) while introducing a triple-driver architecture, upgraded active noise cancellation, Dynamic Spatial Audio and studio-oriented sound tools developed with Metropolis Studios.[1]
History & launch
Headphone (1) Pro was announced on 29 September 2026 alongside the appointment of South Korean singer and BTS member V as Nothing's Global Brand Ambassador. It became available in Black and White at £349 / $399 / €349 through nothing.tech and selected retail partners.[2]
The partnership also extended beyond the new flagship headphone. The launch campaign featured V using Headphone (1), Headphone (a), Ear (3) and Ear (3a), making the campaign a promotion of Nothing's wider audio lineup rather than a single-product launch.[2]
The campaign received significant attention from V and BTS fan communities, particularly across international K-pop communities. Fan discussion and social media engagement around V's appearance with the products became a notable part of the launch, with the campaign generating strong interest in both Headphone (1) Pro and the other Nothing audio products featured alongside him.[2,5]
Reports following the campaign also documented increased consumer interest and sell-outs involving several Nothing audio products featured with V. Korean media reported a substantial increase in searches for Nothing following the campaign, alongside reports of Headphone (1) Pro and other V-featured audio products selling out at selected outlets. These reports document a strong commercial response surrounding the campaign, although they do not establish that V's partnership was solely responsible for the subsequent sales performance.[6]
Nothing also held an exclusive launch event featuring figures from the music and creative industries, including a round table with musical artist Kelela and producer Navy Blue, followed by a live performance by Navy Blue.[7]
Design
Headphone (1) Pro retains Nothing's transparent design language while introducing a more premium construction. The earcups use scratch-resistant 9H Panda Glass, while the main structure uses machined aluminium and titanium alloy arms. Nothing states that the titanium arms are 45% lighter than those used on Headphone (1).
The headphones measure 190.2 mm × 174.4 mm × 78.0 mm and weigh 327 g. The ear cushions use a dual-layer construction that is 50% softer than those on Headphone (1), while the headband is 10% wider and uses 12% thicker padding.
Headphone (1) Pro is available in Black and White and is supplied with a hard-shell protective case with a soft TPU lining. The included hard-shell carrying case received criticism from several reviewers and early users for its bulky construction, exposed headband and lack of storage for the included USB-C and 3.5 mm cables. The case encloses the earcups while leaving the headband exposed as a handle, and must be opened to access the charging port.[8,9] Community feedback similarly described the case as bulky and questioned the protection offered to the exposed headband.[10,1]
Hardware
Headphone (1) Pro introduces a triple-driver architecture, with separate drivers handling bass, midrange and treble. Each earcup contains a 40 mm dynamic driver for bass, a 13 × 8 mm precision dynamic driver for the midrange and a 3.2 × 6.0 × 1.15 mm xMEMS driver for high frequencies.
The 40 mm bass driver uses a PET dome with a metal-ceramic coating and a PEEK + PU surround, while the precision driver uses a PEN diaphragm. The xMEMS driver uses a silicon diaphragm. Nothing states that the new bass system provides 15% more punch and 26% greater sensitivity compared with Headphone (1).
Headphone (1) Pro features Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation rated at up to 46 dB. Its ten-microphone system uses three feed-forward and two feedback microphones on each side, while a new 8 mm silicone sound-seal baffle and dual-layer ear cushions help reduce external noise leakage.
The headphones are rated IP52 for dust and water resistance. Clear Voice Technology uses four microphones for calls and voice recordings.[1]
Controls
Headphone (1) Pro retains the tactile control system introduced with Headphone (1), using a roller, paddle and physical buttons rather than relying entirely on touch controls.
The roller adjusts volume, with a press for play and pause and a long press for switching between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes. The paddle skips tracks with a short push and can fast-forward or rewind when held, while also handling calls.
A dedicated button can be customised through the Nothing X app for functions including the smart assistant and camera shutter. A physical switch also allows users to toggle between Flat EQ and their normal EQ settings without opening the app.[1]
Connectivity
Headphone (1) Pro uses Bluetooth 6.1 and supports AAC, SBC and LDAC codecs. It supports dual-device connectivity and can connect to compatible devices through Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and MFi pairing. The headphones also support Auracast for compatible broadcast audio. For wired listening, Headphone (1) Pro supports USB-C audio with lossless playback at up to 24-bit/192 kHz, while the 3.5 mm connection supports Hi-Res audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz.
The Nothing X app provides Advanced EQ, Personal Sound, custom EQ profiles and Low Lag Mode. Headphone (1) Pro also introduces Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking, including sound profiles developed with Metropolis Studios.[1]
Nothing partnered with Metropolis Studios to tune Headphone (1) Pro, developing a studio-oriented sound profile and a Flat EQ mode designed to provide a neutral presentation for reviewing, producing and mixing music. Metropolis Studios also developed five EQ profiles for Nothing X covering Neo-Jazz, British Rock, Bass Music, Grime & UK Rap and Electronic.[15]
The first firmware update for Headphone (1) Pro, version 1.0.1.53, improved dual-device connection stability and audio performance, while also optimising USB audio performance. Nothing distributes firmware updates through Nothing X using a staggered rollout to monitor stability during deployment.[16]
Battery & charging
Headphone (1) Pro contains a 1060 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It provides up to 30 hours of playback with Active Noise Cancellation enabled and up to 68 hours with ANC disabled when using AAC. With LDAC enabled, playback is rated at up to 28 hours with ANC enabled or 53 hours with ANC disabled.
A 5-minute charge provides up to 2 hours of playback with ANC enabled or up to 4 hours with ANC disabled. A full charge takes approximately 120 minutes over USB-C.[1]
