The Glyph Mirror is a novelty feature introduced for the Glyph Matrix system on Nothing Phone (3). This feature functions as a minimalistic, pixel-style live camera feed on the Glyph Matrix, captured even when the device’s screen is off. It allows users to snap a quick photo using the rear camera by long-pressing the Glyph button and captures both a regular photo and a monochrome, 8-bit aesthetic Glyph Matrix style image.
As part of the promotion and hype-building for Phone (3), Nothing released a web version of the Glyph Mirror which enabled users to take a Glyph Matrix style photo using their web browser and webcam or phone’s camera, with the intention that users would share these on social media.
Development & Launch
Nothing CEO, Carl Pei, showcased the Glyph Mirror feature on social media, on 27 June 2025, captioning a pixelated version of his selfie with Me through Glyph Mirror. What do y’all think?

An official thread was created on nothing.community to promote the tool. Many users responded by creating Glyph Mirror selfies, posting them in the thread, and applying them as their profile pictures.[2]
The Glyph Mirror was released as a Glyph Toy on Phone (3), originally only capturing a regular photo with the rear camera, it was later updated to include a Glyph Matrix style image in Nothing OS V3.5-250801-1847, however it was swiftly removed again with no official communication.[3,4] In September 2025, Nothing added a button directly in the camera app to toggle the Glyph Mirror.[5]
Reception
Tech observers and community members likened the feature to the classic Gameboy camera photos and appreciated its playful novelty.[6] Some felt the level of detail was too limited for practical use.[7]
Community Tools
A number of community members made their own versions of the Glyph Mirror, adding various new functions such as image upload and sizing.
Matrices: Nothing Community member Uday expanded the Glyph Mirror concept with a versatile tool named Matrices; enabling creation of profile pictures and wallpapers. He included configurable options for pixel shape (circular or square), resolution, anti-aliasing, and more.[8]
Glyph Matrix Image Maker: quintenvandamme showcased their Glyph Mirror style tool on nothing.community, promoting features such as webcam support, contrast control, and offline processing.[9]
